Michael Anthonisz– Chief Economist, Queensland Treasury Corporation
Michael Anthonisz is QTC’s Chief Economist and economic spokesperson and has over 16 years’ experience advising senior leaders at both the federal and state levels. Michael is responsible for QTC’s economic and financial market research and has led these efforts since February 2010. His team provides economic and market insights for key stakeholders including QTC’s Board, executive team and clients.
Prior to joining QTC, Michael spent 5 years as an economist at the Australian Treasury in Canberra where he worked on the Budget and revenue forecasting. Michael’s specific areas of research interest include real-time assessments of the economy, fiscal policy as well as what drives bond yields and inflation.

Ed works predominantly with Phil McMahon, one of Queensland’s leading finance lawyers.
Ed advises domestic and international financial institutions and corporate borrowers, including leading Australian and international banks, non-ADI lenders, private and ASX listed companies, government owned corporations and departments.

Kurt Smith FCTA – Technical Director, ACTA and Director, Marengo Capital
Kurt Smith is the Vice President and Technical Director of the Australian Corporate Treasury Association, and a Director of Marengo Capital, a corporate advisory company. Kurt has over 25 years’ experience in creating and managing for value in banking, funds management, private equity, fintech, utilities and mining services. Kurt has a Ph.D. from the University of Western Australia, and an M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge.
